Having trouble deploying a report

I've installed SQL Server 2005 express SP2 with SQL Server Reporting
Services, along with the Business Intelligence Development Studio from
the SQL Server Express Toolkit SP2. I've created a reports project
and a simple report that I'm trying to deploy. When I try to deploy,
I get prompted for a username and password. I've tried all the
username and password for this computer combinations I can think of,
but it doesn't recognize any of them. I have the virtual directory for
the SQL Reports set to 'integrated windows'. Any ideas about what I'm
missing?

Have you created at least one user account in the Report Manager? If
you haven't, you will want to create a user account with at least
Browser privileges in the Report Manager, preferably set to your
current windows domain account (i.e., DOMAIN_NAME\UserName). Also, if
you are using Firefox or some other non-IE browser, the authentication
window always pops up. If this doesn't help, you may need to evaluate
the security on the Reports and ReportServer virtual directories in
IIS. Hope this helps.

Then "Upload Report"
See if you get an error message there, possibly more specific and post this
here.

In order to upload a report via the Report Manager, the items I
mentioned above need to be in place beforehand.

Having problems deploying a report.

I am working with a MS 2005 SQL Server database. I have the following error message. A connection could not be made to the report server http://localhost/ReportServer. I am trying to develop these on a network server. Is this a configuration issue, that it is expecting this on the local machine.

Hi,

are you sure that the user (which deploy the report) have access rights to the report server. You can administrate this under http://localhost/reports and then under security, there you must add the AD-user.

When I go on the internet and type in Http://localhost I receive a not found error message. It claims to be Under Construction and references the IIS Help. But other reports from the server do deploy and I cannot see them from either machine

Hi,

when localhost the SQL-Reporting-Server is, you must take the url http://localhost/Reports! It is importen to give the subweb Reports to go to the administrationwebsite of the reporting server...

I have been deploying the first few test SQL 2005 machines recently, from what I was told is the full-feature edition DVD received from the https://licensing.microsoft.com website.

We have purchased a mixture of per-processor and per-user licenses to use for this software. However, I am never asked what licensing mode to use during the install.

Can anyone confirm or deny that a setup screen appears asking what licensing version you want to use (per-user or per-processor)?

I cannot confirm what was downloaded from the licensing-website because I don't have access through the company.

I have the same symptoms as seen on this postings:

The Licensing is not controlled through installation or configuration in SQL Server 2005. It is simply a mater of ensuring that you purchase the correct license for the configuration that you are running.

Just to make sure I understand this: in our case, we've purchased a SQL Server 2005 license from an OEM. We've installed the Enterprise Eval version of SQL Server 2005, supposedly good for 180 days. How does it go from an Eval version to a "purchased" version?

It won't. Although Michelle is saying above the licensing is based on the honor system, most evaluation editions cut-out after the designated number of days.

You will need to get your hands on an over-the-counter version of the software.

I'm surprised you were able to purchase a license without receiving the original software. You may want to call the OEM or Microsoft.

I'm not sure if you can "upgrade" an evaluation edition to an over-the-counter version... you may want to investigate.
